One of our Australian staff members is getting married, and we wanted to give him and his new wife not only a wedding congrats card but a wallet to hold vouchers and other goodies. When I saw the challenge this round I knew what I wanted to do, after being inspired by a class at Kristines a fellow stampin’ up! demonstrator, using the map background stamp and the Traveller stamp set of which I had to borrow from her ; I put my creative Mojo to the test. . MMM realised I hadn’t borrowed the map background… Ah but in a light bulb moment my creation evolved. Two for One – entry in the around The World Challenge and a cool wallet to give to the bride and groom.
Using a sheet of Typeset Specialty Designer Series paper I used the one with the map on it and sponged it in Night of Navy, Pear Pizzaz and crushed curry to get the multi coloured look you see in atlases. Mounted this on crushed Curry Cardstock. and mounted that on the front of a Crumb Cake base also sponged in those three colours.
For the flag at the bottom I used the heart Borderettes made from Photopolymer (page 34) and the Something to say (page 104 of the catalogue) I stamped two tickets from That’s The Ticket stamp set and punched out with Ticket Duo Builder punch.
For the inside I created some pockets to put a travel itinerary in and a couple of pockets for credit cards or Prezzie cards. A great gift voucher project.Ideal for gift giving. You could put in an ITunes voucher, a mobile phone top up card and a Farmers card. Imagine getting a wallet full of cards for a Christmas present. Yes please … hope my kids are reading this LOL
I sponged the inside with the same colours as the outside and stamped the Traveller images to give a bit of added interest. I used the corner rounder punch from Project Life on the pouches and the layers.
I layered the map piece of the DSP to the left pocket and the top right pocket – you will notice I didn’t sponge these pieces.
To finish it off I used crumb cake Seam Binding Ribbon to tie the wallet together.
