HAPPY EASTER
I hope you have not only celebrated the religious reason for Easter but enjoyed family and friends over this 4 day break. I have been having a creative weekend. Testing my mojo on the latest around the world challenge. The idea for this card came from Juliette Riddell fellow demonstrator – who showed us this card at our recent team training event. My philosophy is ‘if you can do traditionally you can do digitally’. The colours for this challenge are Crushed Curry, Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay. Nice and bright and cheerful. My creation is done using My Digital Studio, MDS is an intuitive digital software – you can access this software for a 30 day free trial by going to my store HERE
I tried to create the same pattern effect on the tags as the traditional card below, and created it by inserting a stamp image into the punch. If you would like to know how to do this you can email or join my digital classes.
Stampin’ Up! are working really hard to source a printing company in the south pacific who will honour the Stampin’ Up! colour quality. While we are waiting for this to come to fruition don’t let it stop you from creating NOW!! I have been creating photobooks and cards, printed on T shirts, created on canvas, made all sorts of things in MDS using my home printer. Now I am just waiting till the day Stampin’ Up! make that longed for announcement that we have a printing service, ….. Why wait , be a good guide or scout and be prepared …download the trial version now, when you have done that, email me and I will help you get started by offering you free digital lessons during that month trial ..DONT DELAY DOWNLOAD TODAY FREE…. you will be pleased you did. Check out my traditional version of the challenge below using real cardstock and Stampin’ Up! products….Then along came MDS to the South Pacific – the colours and designs in this software are the same as what is in our catalogues. The BONUS is that unlike the stamps in the catalogue the most of the images don’t retire in MDS. MDS is great when designing – no more wasting cardstock or paper when creating, just hit the undo button if something isn’t quite what you would like it to be. MDS is great for making hybrid cards which is a combination of traditional and digital – the great thing is the colours will exactly match, (However if you print on a home printer or from other sources Stampin Up do not guarantee colour matches.) If printing at home you will need to understand that each brand of printer gives different results.
Check out my traditional v digital – I use stampin up coordinating cardstock and designer series papers , with colour markers and stamps etc for my traditional cardmaking and scrapbooking. For this card the traditional way I created the pattern on the tags by adding versa mark ink to my embossing folder – I did not put it through the big shot ..just took my brayer and rolled the folder to get the effect… I liked the effect but it really didn’t wow me – so the light bulb went off and I saw clear embossing powder and the heat tool coming to the rescue. I love the effect you get from this – and even better still I have a technique to teach in my next class. Don’t you just love it when your mojo flows….
